The Community Centre and Village Hall were originally used as schools within the village

Discover Moulton’s Heritage: The Village Hall & Community Centre

Step back in time and explore two of Moulton’s most treasured landmarks, each rich with history and community spirit.

Built in 1878, the Village Hall first served as the village Board School for boys, with the headmaster’s residence next door (now a private home). It later became part of Moulton Grammar School, a cornerstone of local education until 1939, when it merged with Spalding Grammar School.

A few years later, the Community Centre was constructed as a school for girls and infants, eventually evolving into the village’s main school until the mid-1970s. When a new school was built, these historic buildings were entrusted to Moulton Parish Council, leading to the formation of the Moulton Community Association.

Today, these buildings stand as vibrant hubs for village life, thanks to the dedication of local volunteers. The Moulton Community Association is now a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (registered charity number 1154390), working tirelessly to preserve these beautiful spaces for future generations.

Whether it’s for community events, fundraisers, or just a visit, the Village Hall and Community Centre continue to be at the heart of Moulton, serving as a testament to the village’s proud heritage.

Join us in celebrating and supporting these historic buildings—right in the heart of our community.
